Powersports Inventory Management. Re-imagined.

Inventory is already a headache, but the system to manage it does not have to be.

Shopwerks is more than just software, we are an organized, shared, value resource. And our inventory system is one of the biggest ways we provide value.

We deal with ALL of the catalog importing hassle, and even go a little beyond the standard dealer data to get product images, descriptions, and and fitment. All loaded into a shared central server, so to add inventory, you simply enter sku or upc, quantity and bin location, and (if not already a local product in your system), your platform will pull product data from the central server to not only create the product in inventory, but list the part on your website. **see our perspective on eCommerce below.

Major Units

Inside the inventory module we also have a separate “Quick Add” specifically for Major Units (Vehicles) – New or Used.

By storing data like “as-is” value (for used) or “monthly cost” (such as flooring for new units) your Major Units view in the inventory module gives you a quick reality check on what needs to get done.

Major Units and all inventory features are included in our standard package.

**Our Perspective on E-commerce
(Specifically Drop-shipping powersports parts)

Shopwerks was born in a powersports shop, and before Shopwerks was commercial, we played the “Drop-Shipping Game” and this are some points anyone looking to enter should know:

  • Online Marketing is Expensive
  • Its highly competitive, making marketing even more expensive.
  • There are MAP policies, because for some the only way to get sales is to drop their prices to razor thin margins (or even none at all just to grow their brand).
  • Because you are not warehousing yourself, there’s stock issues that you will be held accountable for.
  • Even without inventory you still have to manage huge amounts of product data that you either need enterprise grade computer infrastructure to do, or pay a service that takes 10% or so of your revenue.

That being said there are people that do it well.

Our take from our experience is this- when you actually have the product, your have real value, specifically to the customers you are physically close too- you become a real part of the supply chain. When your not warehousing or producing anything- your just another online seller, and its probably not worth your time; we think you will make more focusing on your local market and your existing customers.
